Ethylsilicate 40 in anticorrosive zinc dust paints and nonstick paints

12 December 2022

1 part - Ethylsilicate 40 in anticorrosive zinc dust paints

Galvanizing is the coating of metal with a layer of zinc to protect against corrosion.

There are several methods of galvanizing - hot and cold.

Hot dip galvanizing is possible only in industrial conditions.

Cold galvanizing is painting with zinc paint, which is more popular and simpler than hot galvanizing.

Protective agents against metal corrosion, containing zinc, are presented on the market in two versions, which differ in binding components:

·       with inorganic binders (silicate materials - Ethylsilicate 40);

·       with organic binders (epoxy, alkyd, urethane, chlorinated rubber).

Zinc ethylsilicate paints are the easiest and most affordable way to protect against corrosion and extend the service life of metal products (even in such an aggressive environment as sea water) for 20-25 years, the resulting layer on the surface protects the metal from mechanical damage.

Zinc ethylsilicate paint is most often used for painting ferrous metal, which is operated in difficult weather conditions. These compositions cover:

·       building structures;

·       construction of bridges, ports;

·       ships (parts that come into contact with sea water);

·       metal tanks;

·       agricultural machinery;

·       tunnels.

Characteristics of coatings based on Ethylsilicate 40:

·       anti-corrosion resistance in industrial and marine conditions;

·       good chemical resistance;

·       excellent abrasion resistance;

·       high temperature resistance.

2 part - Ethylsilicate 40 in nonstick paints

Nonstick paint is a special nonstick refractory composition used to protect surfaces..

Ethylsilicate 40 is used to create a nonstick layer on suitable paints.

High quality, fast drying nonstick coatings are produced using ethyl silicate diluted with alcohol or acetone.

Advantages of non-stick coatings:

·       preservation of vitamins and useful properties of products (pans with nonstick coating allow you to minimize the amount of fat and oil when frying, or even do without them);

·       excellent corrosion resistance;

·       high heat resistance;

·       energy savings in the cooking process (nonstick coating makes the walls and bottom of the dishes thicker, due to which there is a uniform heating and heat retention);

·       ease of care (most nonstick coatings are unpretentious in care - just rinse with a soft sponge).
